jesus!
I think most of the male members have more 'bit/ch' hormone than any female on here…
I'm off to the charity shop to find a leopard print handbag.

Just caught up with this thread the idea of a map of members would be the best thing since Mr VW decided to put an Injection engine in on of there Mk1s and call it a GTi
this would make my job easier and would help all regional host to contact members about up and coming events.
I will be talking to 36th crazyfist (simon) about how we can achieve this asap
the problem is we need members / user cooperation so that the maps are kept up to date.
I try and ask and have put sticky on the new Folks section asking them to put there location in the UK on their profile and many don't bother which isn't helpful
Like paul_c said a clickable map would be ideal if it can be done.
will see what we can do.

A clickable map can definitely be done and it also means the left hand menu bar could link simply to "regions" rather than listing possibly 20+, therefore leaving more space for an expanded tech section!

Brilliant Idea Han,
Not to over complicate things could we have catergories i.e East Midlands, then include sub catergories Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire etc. West Midlands, Birmingham etc etc.
Catch my drift, mmmm! thinking about it perhaps my suggestion is abit daft if the direct areas are shown. ops:

if youre to make a map why not just add location to the required fields when people sign up. then a map can auto update itself with member numbers etc....

Yep Kinda,
just thought that dividing the areas up by East mids, West Mids with sub cats would mean that for someone like me could then look at the areas and if I cannot make a meeting in my area (Derbbyshire) then I can look at the surrounding areas and go like you stated to a meet else where, i.e. West Mids. Most peoeple would travel to another area for a meet.
I think it's a brilliant Idea, if it can be done either way.

You'd want to know bordering regions, not a 'zonal' split. A map would easily solve that issue, because you could see where the next nearest active area is. Once they're on a map, 20 or even 30 regions won't crowd it out. Unfortunately, it seems that 'most' people don't even travel to their local meet, some of them have been really low numbers despite a lot of people in that area posting on the forum! I appreciate some people aren't here for the local meets though.

Ok whatever would work best. As to meets, over winter I guess not so many folks want to come out and what with the credit crunch. I really was looking forward to going to Malvern, but have been injured and un able to drive, so been reliant on my Doris, to get me about. But now I am on the mend I should be out a bit more. In fairness Jim, my area co ordinator did p.m. me about a meet, for the specific GTI'S. Sounds daft but wasn't really sure if that applied being a non gti cabby owner?
At least with a map etc You can decide whether you can drive there and back in an evening to go out to a non area meet.
