High quality painter recommendation please

Hi,

The time has come for me to get my mk1 painted. I am looking for recommendations for painters who have built up a solid reputation. Would be very grateful if people who have had FIRST HAND experiences with an individual sprayer/ fabricator.

I am looking for a pretty good glass finish with no runs and orange peel on a full bare shell respray. I've got some bespoke requirements like extending arches using repair panels and welding a few holes etc. Willing to spend a fair amount of money on a quality job, I.e. where minimal filler is used and good time is spent flattening coats. Have already contacted a known painter on here but still waiting for confirmation.

Ideally located in the south east but would be willing to travel for the right person. Any pointers (inc those to avoid) will be appreciated. With the amount of hours and money already spent I don't want to give it to the wrong person.

Hi

I can fully recommend Custom Coachworx in Eastbourne. Its where im having mine done in the new year and I have been looking at their work for the last 6 months including a bubble arched Mk1 Escort that they put together. Im having a respray and roof swap and I am ultra picky!! I know the owner only because I keep popping over, so not promoting for a friend or for any other reason!
