Zorst Blow Question....

Hi guys, I hope someone can help… I have just done allot of work on my Sportline including fitting a new manifold to downpipe o ring and all the clips to cure an exhaust blow from when I bought it… Well we fitted it all but it still blows.. Could this be a cracked downpipe or something..

I have been offered a downpipe from a 83 GTI 8V will this fit my 91 Sportline??
One other question regarding the 4 branch combined manifold and downpipe you can buy… As this does not have a flexi design in it surely this must be prone to coming loose at the joint to the system does it not??

Is maybe one of these combined units better than what I have??

It will if you obtain the 6bolt exhaust manifold from the same model and fit that as well . Heard nothing good about those clips , except problems . I would say the early bolted design is far better .

  

Thanks very much... but how does the downpipe flex with no flexy joint?? or am i wrong???

my mk2 1.3 had a c clip design
i droped it a gear to overtrake my mate on his farm and it just blew itself to pieces and the downpipe hit the floor and i had to drive it back to his house like it 8O
