New Jetex Mk1 S/S system

Hi All,

Has anyone got one of the new jetex s/s pipes yet? i have just ordered one as it looks well made and has the correct "angle" on the tail pipe!

I have a feeling it may be a bit racey for my taste but you have to try dont ya!

some one else here has one and it does look nice.

System arrived yesterday, been at the fitters for an hour and a half, fecking thing does not fit properly!

Its to do with trying to connect it to a standard down pipe, even with all the sleeves etc they prove to change the size its still about 2cm to large annd we have had to fit an extra sleeve over the standard down pipe to get it to seal.

Due to the downsize connectors it makes the bends in the pipe in wrong place, the whole system needs to sit 3 inches further forward.. plus the majority of the mounts for the rubbers are either in the worng place or none existant! as it is now it bangs and vibrates like a whores rabbit. It really looks like they have not tried to fit one to a standard mk1 down pipe before putting it on the market!

Now left with no option but to try and find a 2.5 inch down pipe to get the system moved forward..

Pretty annoyed with Jetex….

I have just got a mild steel one still in the box for my 16v conv. Mateing it to a ashley manifold and link pipe.

Hope she fits :dontknow:

My current system is an ashley 4 branch to a standard system and there had to be a 20cm custom pipe made to make it fit to the standard system.  :roll:

Were you not tempted to go for the whole system or at least go for another 4 branch? (assuming they are all the same size?  :dontknow: )

I knew about the custom pipe to get them to mate but was not sure on the sizes.

As for making life easy with sticking with the ashly system would of been good but think it would of been far to loud as ment for track and not road. hense why i went for Jetex.

Just been to the shed and my Jetex is in 4 peaces, center box, link pipe for rear beam, rear box and some other little link pipe?

The bore of the ashly link pipe is 58mm and center box of jetex is 54mm But im not to sure on where this jetex little link pipe goes as its smaller than the 2. plus im still driving me car which is a 1.5 :roll:

Still not sure if i need a link pipe for the ashly and that the jetex will fit ok.

you can NEVER have too many pictures!  

I have asked Jetex if they make a down pipe, not keen on getting a 4branch s/s manifold as i have heard they do not give a noticable gain in power without head work etc.

I will be happy if i can simply get the jetex system to fit without banging and vibrating through the car!

Does anyone want to buy a nearly new Jetex S/S half system ?

Its too loud for my ears and in the flesh it doesnt look as close to the standard pipe as i thought it would..

Cost ?305 new Offers? Postage would be ?30 via DHL.
