Well worth checking the condition of the fuel pump basket, brackets and rubber mountings. The pump basket is suspended by the rubber mounts to stop the pump vibrating against the car. The basket, mounts etc rot and break over time and often the pump ends up being lashed into place with cable ties and vibrating against the chassis leg. Mine was like this, so much quieter now properly mounted.
