fuel pump!!

right my shell is a 1.1 there are 2 fuel lines running length of the car im guessing flow and return! i now am puting a 16v engine in! everything else is sorted the mount, steering rack etc but how do people who do this conversion sort out the fuel pump issue?

i was chatting to the guy who helping me put the engine in and on his mk1 jetta which was a 1.3 he put a polo lift pump in and then a pump and bits connected to it from an audi!

i have the lift pump from the polo, but im a bit stuck with a fuel pump, he was saying the audi ones will run 3 bar! which is why he got one im still trying to get my head round the fuel pump side of things! so any answers wil be eagerly anticipated but please try and make them simple for me!

can i just buy a external pump that will do everything without the need for the lift pump" and without having to change my tank! i hope so!

someone else must of done small block to big block and got round this issue! if thnere is one available can someone please put me a link up to it so i know what im looking at!
many thanks! chris

Use a tintop gti tank and fuel pump. This takes fuel from the bottom so no need for lift pump.

 i've just been writing about this on gangstay thread. i'm fitting polo gt to 1.1c, and being on a budget i decided to replicate the polo set up and fit a lift pump in the tank a high pressure pump beside it and replace the fuel line with larger bore high pressure lines. i have raided many scrap polos(best place for them!) for pumps wiring relays and fuel lines. however the carb tank has no baffling so fuel surge may be a problem.

as i said to gangstay best, neatest, solution is to go the standard gti setup, tank pump and lines
