Fuel filler neck for cabby

Hi,

New to the mk1 Golf scene have just purchased a 1991 Green Rivage which is in need of a new fuel filler neck, I know this type of question has been asked again and again but would appreciate any advice on where to get one from. I have heard that a stainless steel option is available, I've tried Crazyquiffs but there will be none available from there for about 2 months or so have also tried GSF but they said that the ones they have listed only go up to 1984 model cabby's (would this fit a 1991)???
Like I said any help and advice would be much appreciated.

Dont ask what your club can do for you, but what can you do for your club?

I bought the GSF one and that fitted straight onto a 1988 cabby. So cant see why it wouldnt fit yours, copied part numbers from recpt below.

You will pay a big premium for a cabby one, as stated above may be an idea to consider a tintop one and cutdown.

I couldnt afford any hassle as doing the work quite a few miles from home and needed the car that eve to get back home. Which is why I went for the cabby one.

GSF one i got was not stainless, infact havent seen one of them new for ages, occasionally come up 2nd hand on fleabay.

GSF part no 29231
URO no. 2-13450
part no 155-201-129B
cost 96.00 excluding VAT

You'll be OK just painting it before you fit it;

Mine had a new one fitted just before I bought it but the garage hadn't painted it and left a lot of mud trapped between the flange and the body work.

Clean off all the mud up inside the wheel arch and spray under seal or waxoyl everywhere when you've fitted it. Then regulary stick the hose pipe up there and wash away any new mud when you wash the car. Will last longer than the rest of the car then.

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.
