Cab vs tin-top fuel accumulator

Anyone know what the difference is (apart from the cab part being a lot smaller)?

I just cured my warm start problem by cleaning out the non-return valve in the pump and swapping out the accumulator for a spare cab part I had. The car runs great (and starts when warm :D ) but I just wanted to check if the cab accumulator was ok?

Cheers,
Duncan

Well I've been driving around for a few days now and the cabby accumulator seems to work fine. Strange that it's much smaller though…

Porsche 924 using K-jet uses a very large accumulator . [1980's
car ].
I would think as long as it keeps fuel pressure size doesn't matter ?

I wondered if it was because the cabby has a lift pump so the accumulator has a more consistent feed therefore doesn't need to be as large.

Would that be this part:

18369  FUEL INJECTION PUMP  G1 1.8 F.Inj 8/82 >12/83  ?48.50?

I've got a Rivage GTI and I think it's the fuel pump, but it makes a whining noise??? That only starts when you fire it up. And it's constantly there untill you turn it off. :dontknow:

Nope, they're two different things mate. Pump is to deliver the fuel and the accumulator to maintain the system pressure

Buzzing fuel pump is a common problem. Can mean the pump is on it's way out but can last a fair time buzzing - mine did for a few months! Best be prepared to buy a new one
