I looked at this for someone recently and I'm pretty certain that the exhaust gasket is the same for the mechanical and hydraulic heads. It will end in the wrong place though. It'll also be a larger bore than the mk1 system. I use a GTi system as it has the same bore as the mk3 Polo GT.

If you want a stainless one, get the raceland 1.3/1.4 Polo 6N manifold. It's ?50 cheaper than the mk3 Polo item. The only downside is that it's around 50mm diameter at the end to suit the cat on the 6N. You do get a decat pipe as well. The mk3 Polo version is a better size at the end but needs the lambda boss welding in. The same goes for the mild steel Ashley, but they are only around ?100 from Rally Design.

Yes, it will fit but you may find it fouls your gear linkage - especally if you convert to a 5-speed Polo gearbox.

Best way to sort out the end where it hits the front pipe is to use a Lancia Delta flexi joint.  You may need to stick a bolt in the Labmda probe hole too.
