2litre bottom end and exhaust,, how much taller is the block

anyone know how much taller the 2litre block is as i have to mod my 1800 downpipe to fit and want to know roughly how much i need to extend it

Depends if you have the tall block or not... ABF tall block (16v from mk3/seats) is 16mm higher than original I beleive...

   I have put the 2.0 Tall block in my mk1 GTi ,You don't need to
    modify the exhaust atall.I did put a spacer above the rear
     gearbox mount because the throttle spindle was rubbing the
    bodywork

if you go for the audi 9a bubble block, then theres no probs, thats the engine most of the companys use as well, its just not the easiest to find

9a is from corrados and passats... 6a is the audi equivalent. It is just mount longitudinally in the audi rather than the usual way in the veebuds... These are both 16v.

they dont need to 16v if your just using the block just the block
