whats your oil temp on mfa?

just wondering really my oil temp is about 80-90ish when cruising about but after i drive it hard it can creep over the 100 mark, whats your oil temp like?

i always have the last laugh ;)

also do you think its some where near? or do you think the readings are abit vague?

I have seen 110 on my MFA before but that was going round castle combe.

Mk1 Lahsa green, BBS RM, Mk1 Silver Campaign, Mk5 GT TDi, Audi A4 Avant S Line

Don't know about mfa (not got one) but vdo tells me 90c while motorway cruising and 100c when sat in traffic for ages.

that's it : 90 - 92 to 94 at consistent high speed cruising (say consistent 3,000 RPM) rising to 108 when kicking on through the B roads - have seen 110+ in a traffic jam in summer

do you have an oil cooler my mk1 never went over 100 as oil cooler kick't in and i use to drive it hard

Your temps sound normal to me. I hit about 130 once ( 8O ) after a hard drive when in need of an oil change!

nope not got an oil cooler, just the water cooled oil cooler.
will keep my eye on it, but if it goes any higher i no where there is an oil cooler  :wink:  so ill go n get that.

My MFA reads about the same between 80-90 then rarely goes over 100 even when driven hard, but then I have just changed oil and flushed it, changed water pump, thermostat, hoses, flushed the system and put new G012 Coolant in so Im happy with that
