What's the Correct Coil Connections ?

Ok, need some help this time on coil…..

My mk1 is a track rebuild project and all wireing is half done/ half wrong

I have managed to get a mk2 loom which will fit mk1 nice,

Im having problems on the coil connections,…….

The 2 terminals togethor go to the loom by a connector altough one of these wires are cut red/black ( im taking it this is positive ignition ?)

Next there are 3 terminals togethor i have a black connector from the loom but what do the other 2 need to be connected to?

Or have i got it all wrong? Any help greatley received …

Today i connected the loom and the only extra connections i made were -ve to terminal 1 and 12v from ignition to terminl 15, on the coil.
Still no spark but the coil got very hot !!!

on ur coil u hav 2 conections + & -,
there r 2 wires going to the live conection, 1 is from the ignition, 1 is from the ecu,
on the neg u hav 3, 1 goes 2 the ignition, coms through same hole in bulhead as the live, 2 wire shud cum from ecu also,

so 2 wires go to each terminal,
il check later & let u no

sounds like what i have done except different polarity -ve +ve

Have just been thinking! ut oh!
I have a constant 12v to +ve on coil from my ignition, is this right? as i thought the coil works (produces high voltage on secondary coil) when the 12v is broken. ???

Any chance you could tell me were the black/red wire goes to from terminal 1 -ve terminal.

thats your live from the ignition, it goes on the possitive on your coil
