strange wiring connector

Hi, does anyone know what the spare connector plug under the bonnet by the front left suspension turret is for. It goes into the main wiring loom but does not seem to connect to anything :dontknow:

Cheers

If by left you mean passenger side, then it probably connects to the top of the header tank where theres a sensor for water level.

Chances are that yours has been replaced with a non sensor type type and therefore that connector isnt needed.

I have a couple of unconnected blocks under the expansion tank. I posted up about these a while ago but didn't get much of a reply so just left them alone as alls well at the moment!!

Aren't they for fog lights if you fit them under the bumper?

I've got strange spare connectors all over my engine bay, and a brown wire with white trace that is just sitting in limbo with nothing connected to it. Car seems to run ok though, so never really worried about it!!

This has been dicussed in another post on here at the moment as well. Apparently the brown with white wire goes from the rocker cover to the dashboard console, and acts as an earthing point for the dashboard console, presumably so the gauges such as temperature and oil temp etc. can give acurate readings.  On my car it's hanging in limbo at the moment, but I'm going to connect it up as soon as I get a ring connector to crimp on the end of it, see what difference it makes.

It could well influence the MFA as well, although mine appears to work ok without it connected. My temp gauge, and oil temp gauge however do not work properly at the moment!!
