mk1 into mk2 wiring

Hi guys just wondering if anyone here can help me,I have transplanted a mk2 gti engine in to my mk1 gl,engine is in & all back together apart from some parts nothing major just got to suss out  fitting the heater matrix pipes to the coolant hose etc,but have now hit the stumbling block……the wiring which I havent a clue about.I have got the mk2 fuse box & wiring loom but what I would like to know is this……how do I connect in the wiring for the rear lights & the wiring for the ignition,hazards,front lights etc as this is driving me mental…. if anyone has done this transplant & has any pics or any help it would be much appreciated as I think I will be swinging from the rafters soon…. tried looking at the wiring diagram but I can read that as well as I can read music.

Did you no that VW used the late MK1 fuze board in the MK2 ? So your rear wiring should work . See my sticky above here for more details .

VW like any other car manufacturer used anything they could out of the spares bin to save costs so the wiring should be easy .
