BTW does anyone know where that expression comes from? I do and it's truely disgusting.

"It's like opening a can of worms. This is a highly problematical situation or complex problem. Broaching it may lead to utter chaos. The saying originated in the United States in the mid-twentieth century and refers to the live bait kept in jars or other containers by fishermen."

c'mon?

That's not what I heard.

I've got it going back the The Great War where soldiers spent months on end in trenches with no form of shall we say 'recreation'. They would collect all the earth worms, place them in a can and have 'recreation', then resealing the can. So, opening a soldiers can of worms was something you didn't really want to do.

That's what I heard anyway!

I'm definately interested, and have been researching/comparing kits on and off for a while.

a couple of things I want from a kit is true bi xenon as in both hi and low beams are HID xenons not where the low beam is HID and full beam is just an ordianary filament bulb, also I'd want the colour temperature 4300K.

so far I don't think I've found a kit that does both and looks to be decent quality, I'm sure there are some arond I'm in no real hurry so I'll just keep looking….

Sounds good if you've got the spare cash. Since the previous thread kindly found by Tian I've fitted 100/80w bulbs to my car via a couple of fused relays. total cost about thirty quid with bulbs and chunky wire and connectors. Not as flash as HID bulbs, but a vast improvement on the previous lights.
p.s. I did this mod on Mk 1 about twenty years ago (yes, really!) and the headlamps really stood out as bright on the road compared to other cars…nowadays you don't even notice, there are so many dazzlingly bright lights around…
