mk1 golf cabriolet speaker upgrade?
ive measured my front ones, but i cant be botherd to remove the rear door cards to find out the size of them, can anyone tell me the size of them so i can get some components in there,
only reason i cant be botherd to remove them is its in my garage now and ill have to drive it out to get at it properly

The rears are 6x4. I got some Jbl ones off Ebay. Worth the money as mine were knackered and not even really held together all the way round anymore!

Rear speakers on cabbys before about 1990-1 are I think round 10cm. My old cab had 13cm ones squeezed in there but not all 13cm ones fit very well so beware if going for an upgrade - one lot of 13cm pioneer fitted another set of newer pioneer ones didn't.
Very late cabbys 1991> had 6x4s in the rear cards and 13cm round in the front.
If the cards take 6x4s you will see a plastic grille on the door card. If they are the 10cm ones you will just see a number of small holes in the door card itself that you could possibly mistake as a kind of vent!
