Just seen your other posts - It is a Gti and most likely has twin horns.  If it has your problem is a loom one.  The horns draw a high current which is used to heat the loom which drops the voltage causing the horns to fail and your lights dim.

Use a secondary relay near the battery and make up a mimi loom to run the horns.  Or replace the appropriate loom wires.

OK, this kind of makes sense to me, and also confuses me. So i will wait till weekend, stare at the car for a while, have a drink then tackle the problem! May need to draw myself a diagram! thanks again!

Locate the horn relay and then use the switch feed to this to run a replacement realy as sugested above. You can then run the direct feed to this relay from the battery (again as sugested). This allows you to use the normal horn push button without having to go into and behind your dash.

Horns are located under the front valence on the passengers side of your car. They are right at the front and real easy to get at. Just run a new supply from your new realy to this and you will be laughing… ;)
