horn not working
bought a new horn today as mine was not working.
linked it up and hey presto, it doesnt work :x
the volt meter drops slightly when i press the horn and the horn makes a clicking sound like the old one was. what could be the problem here. need it as mot at end of month and i need it for beeping in an emergency
how hard are they to rewire.
the steering wheel is an after market item, checked under the horn and one black wire is connected. but where the horn is there are 2 spade connectors which i have fitted onto the 2 terminals on the horn
any help or ideas would be grately appreciated

i traced the wires back a bit and they just went in a big black sleeve with loads of other wires in which went into the bulkhead
might be dirty connections, will try that.
or cut a few inches off these wires and relocate the horn close to the radiator instead of in the crap under the car

right i cut the wires back a few inches, put new ends on
changed the fuse as it was a 15amp in there instead of a 10amp which it should be. and it is still the same. i put the horn on the slam panel so i could see it when pressing horn. it was moving the horn slightly enough to make it vibrate a little. any ideas?

I think your problem is the wiring - the fact that you've got voltage on the horn, and that it clicks a bit when you press the button indicates that the circuits are made, but they can't carry the current required.
You can either replace the wiring from the fusebox to the horn (I know what you mean about the black sleeve disappearing into the bulkhead) or you can fit another relay in the circuit closer to the horn, and just run the new wires from that relay to the horn. This way the high current part of the circuit will be new, and the horn ought to work.
One test which I forgot to carry out when I did my horn was to connect it directly to the battery, to double check that it worked. You may have already done this, but if not it's a quick and simple test…
