HELP NEEDED HK Engine

I have an HK engine in my cab (1985).
Problem is I want connect a VDO oil temp gauge, but know where the connections go from the engine.
Any ideas? :dontknow:

Not sure there are any ready to use connections for gauges on small block engine, as I don't think these ever had VDOs offered with them. On big block engines the oil temp sender is in the oil filter housing - not sure whether you could modify any of this to fit :dontknow: .

This site shows fittting VDOs to a big block engine and mentions that on certain big blocks without a temp sender you can fit an temp sender in place of the oil sump plug.
