Electrical nightmare

Im having a nightmare with the electrics on my mk1.
Ive got no reverse lights
No brake lights
fuel pump runs on constant with the ignition on
No hazards
No front right indicator, bulb is fine.
no temp gauge

It s been messed about something chronic and just want it all ripped out and started again. Bits taken off all over the place to feed other stuff, a complete mess.

Is there such a thing as a complete re wire on a car? Would any one take this sort of job on at all? its beyond me I think to do that, patching it up to make it work may happen but it ll take a lot of time and patience and trial and error and i ll never be happy with it!

Nightmare , yes i agree , but take each problem one step at a time ,start with the fuel issue -for safety reasons -then leave the less important bits like reversing lights till last .


By taking it bit by bit you will eventually cure your problems , Haynes manual has a good wiring diagram , and help is only a post away


Fuel pump running all the time ? Relay 2 in the fuze box , has it been bridged ? Is it missing?

its been bypassed altogether.
has a seperate relay with stop lamp on the top.i ve posted about it here, any help muchappreciated!!
