its so weird. I cant see any logical reason why that would work. Ive tried that aswell and it doesnt work, but the roof still operates normally. ODD!

im pretty sure the hood has a earth inhibit.
There is also 2 wires that run to the pop rivits where the tonneau clips to. these stop you beint able to raise the hood with the tonneau fitted.

The plot has thickened !!!
I went to look at my wires to test out this method on this forum thread to reveal my wires mentioned were already unclipped !
but 2 wires were coming out of the tube of wires into the roof system !
see photo
SO i turned the engine on ! the roof came down and went back up again
SO i turned the engine OFF ! the roof came down and went back up again
I then tried the roof again with the key in but engine off Didnt work
SO i turned engine ON and it didnt work !!!
My electrics must be dodgy as the rrof seems to have a mind of its own
what can i do?
cheers

Pull them apart and Bingo its working whilst driving…
Sweet…. shame the bloody winter is here now but at least i wont get caught out in a rain shower & the kids will think its a cool trick
BTW
I know the new 911 soft top is okay up to 30 mph but has been tested at over 150mph… whats the limit for a MK1… Any ideas?
McP.
