Description:

For sale is my wifes MK1 Sportline. Owned for the last 10 Years
Rightly or wrongly the interior of the car was changed as the original was very faded. It has a full black leather interior with electric Recaro's from a MK2 in the front . The seats and rear bench, I understand were purchased as new old stock and then re-upholstered at a cost of £800 with hides that cost £1800. He then had them sitting in his spare bedroom for 5 years unused before he sold them to me The rear bench has since been modified to incorporate rear headrests and a CrazyQuiffs 3 point seat belt conversion to fit a child seat in the rear . However the car was garaged for over two years and did 14 miles in that period and by the time it was back on the road my daughter had grown so much she did not need the child seat. It does feel safer as an adult in the.

It was fitted with a new windscreen about 4 years ago and anyone who has read my thread ''it started with a leak'' will know the history behind the interior change. I spent around £4K on the interior

In addition the whole floor pan, boot inside the doors and quarter panel was covered in a mixture of Dynamat and Skinz Sound deadening. New carpets and sound deadening were installed together with new door cards from and rear. I also installed replaced all the JL audio component speakers crossovers a JL audio Amplifier under the passenger seat which drivers the rears speakers and a hertz low profile sub bolted to the cross member in the boot. It could probably do with a new head unit to replace the pioneer as although there is nothing wrong with it the speakers and amp are probably not working at their best as the head unit is over 10 years old.

We had big plans to keep this car 'ad infinitum' however nothing lasts forever and since the demise of our relationship I have not had the heart to work on the car and have sold all the bits I had acquired to carry out further upgrades as some of you will know who have purchased things from me. I now live and work in the US and spend very little time over here only coming to see my daughter during school holidays.

The car was re-sprayed externally as my neighbours daughter reversed into the rear offside just behind the door It was only a small dent however . After a big song and dance with Trinity lane insurance I eventually decided to re-spray the whole car as there was a mobile phone ariel above the windscreen I wanted removing and a few other blemishes. Since then it has hardly been used to be honest and been stored in a dry garage.. The rear bumper will need a bit of work as the paint reacted and there is a small crack in the paint if you want it 100%. I was going to take it back to the body shop but the owner Lee retired and sold it on 3 years ago and the new owners will not take any responsibility, understandably 5 years on . The doors have new window scrapers. The hood is in good condition and is treated annually with the hood treatment the MG owners club recommend for DD hoods..

Engine wise despite my plans and various tuned engines being bought and subsequently sold and other conversions being considered not of them made it into the car. So it is standard save for the exhaust which is a Jetex S/S I believe, on the standard manifold. The oil and filter was changed every year even if the car was not used with Mobil 1. The car sits on coil-overs and is lowered slightly. Not sure what the coil-overs are but the car handles very well. Standard sized brakes all round with Goodrich hoses and cross drilled discs on the front. It goes really well and does not burn any oil.

I fitted a complete new steering rack before the MOT at the beginning of this  year as although there was no play in the rack at all the however the track rod ends had split. It had come in as an MOT failure point in the couple of years the car was not on the road. It was not used purely as were had 3 other cars at the time and were so busy at the time had other priorities.

I also replaced both front headlights before the MOT as they looked a little fogged. It passed the MOT with no advisories and every time it has gone for an MOT the tester has commented on how clean and solid it is underneath.

I have quite a few bits that will come with the car that I have not got around to fitting e.g. a new scuttle cover, chrome plated water pipe, starter motor , alternator, inlet manifolds etc. to may little bits to mention.

It s been sitting in the garage for a while so I am waiting for some decent weather to get it out and throw a bucket of water over it before I take some pictures (hopefully tomorrow) Any questions PM me.

Here is a link to my thread, however some of the photo's disappeared when the site migrated to the new one but there are a few pictures still on there.
Having a bit of bother with the DVLA about he V5 as I cannot find it and I want to put the number  plate on retention
PM me if you are interested. I will be leaving the UK in a couple of weeks and would like to pass her on to a new home before I depart.
thanks
