I let the wife drive it, I was burning Sage, fingers crossed, found 2-4 leaf clovers, and offered up many prayers to the VW Gods…….  She made it safely the 2 blocks to the new house.

I swapped the ugly offside  Lucas headlight for a correct Hella one.

So polished the car today with carnube polish.

First time used this and mixed feelings. It leave no residue like autoglym does on any runners etc but is hard work like old fashioned t-cut.  

Will give it a few more goes and see if building layers makes it easier going.

Daniel son has been wax on and wax off for a whole hour today.

As it was a nice evening we decided to take the golf for a run to a local pub. There were loads of folks outside enjoying the weather and decent beer and the looks we got when we pulled up made my day. However it took nearly 15 minutes to get in to the pub. Four different groups of guys, all in their 40’s, came over for a chat and to look the car over.
When we left a couple of hours later a small group assembled to watch us leave which the kids found funny.

Got to love the mk1!!!

Took out the new, fiddly to use, Halfords special, Pioneer usb head unit and fitted an old school NOS Clarion easy use single slot CD player.
 I also took the twist out of the passenger seat belt which annoyed the poop (got caught out by the banned word filter, me and my dyslexia ,carpout of me.

(Whoa! The rude word filter is set really low, edited to a more medical term)

Removed my wing to take to work and and weld up the side repeater and badge holes.
Pleasantly surprised by the lack of rust !

Actually got to drive mine yesterday, 80 degrees, sunny, and my old neighbor needed a door knob installed.

Drove it today topless, 75 degrees, and the radio was playing Boz Scaggs…….

Don't get much better than that did I mention it was night and a twisty road……

Daughter asked if we could take the Golf to school today.. think that came from seeing her shades in the bathroom when she went to brush her teeth..
