What did you do to your MK1 today?

Fitted some new headlights as I had one Hella and one Bosch on the car and both were looking a bit tired! Only had the new pair on the shelf in the garage for a month. Just waiting for a fog lamp to turn up now then will put the rest of the grill back on.

Well my new fog light turned up yesterday. From France. It was yellow.

In my excitement to have found a fog light I just ordered it, not paying attention to the slight yellow tinge, just to the numbers and letters on the lens! Lesson learned!

After a rub down with some wire wool though and a little spray of "chrome" paint, I was left with this:

Happy with the result, just hope I've used enough adhesive on the lens, or I'll be back to square one! Need to clean the overspray off the tabs as it can be seen through the grill.  image.jpeg

Had this exhaust fitted a while ago and it was blowing from the centre, so popped it off and refitted it - for some reason the bracket was fouling on the heat shield for the gear gator, so got the angle grinder out and lopped a bit off, shouldn't rattle now!

Replaced the BBS reps on my '08 Citi Storm with OEM VW VeloCiti wheels, suits the car much better IMO and despite a decent amount of low not catching or rubbing at all…

drove "snowy" into Bawtry … with his poorly knocking engine.. but saw a guy from the "forum" pincher? And had a chat.. wife says even though she's not a mk1 lover.. that's she's no issues with giving him a heart transplant.. as long as it doesn't affect value of her 1st anniversary wedding present..
MOT passed also.. last week. new tank, new distrubuter, new tierod ends, and arms, new fuel filter, new HT leads, rear shoes and drums change
