Clipper passed MOT yesterday only 180 miles since last one!! Off to Spain tomorrow to see if Sportline will pass ITV, its all go! Hope to fit hi-flow rad and rear 3 point seat belts if it not too hot! Cheers :cool:

1991 White' Young Line' GTI LHD from Germany that I can not take to Spain because of Brexit!😒

C:\fakepath20150528_170535.jpg Fitted new/heater controls.. fitted dash badly..The clips are nightmare as the securing points all damaged on the dash it's self. .so not a good fit anymore..need to think of repair.. job got future. Started both the leech and caster..For 20mins warm up.

I got the same problem my heater matrix broke off the retaining clips and the controls are just floating inside the dash.Ive seen the controls going cheaply but the job fitting them looks a right pain in the ass...

hi.. the replacement is easy… remove radio.. and get long nosed pliers pull the retaining clips off the three wires..  label the wires if you cant remember which goes where. then fit the wires on new replacement  whist loose in dash. you need to push clip down, i used side of flat screwdriver and thumb to click in to place, then refit the part. looks harder than is.

Well yesterday I spent 2 hours cleaning mine for a classic car rally (meet) at my local shopping center.
It's a new idea, all sorts of cars and a fair number of American ones and bikes of course.
Costs nothing, you just turn up and park up and walk around have a beverage, bite to eat and a coffee!  :thumbs:

But it rained last night, so I had to wash it again this morning!  :banghead:  :banghead:

Anyhow I found the perfect parking spot for mine, a rose between two thorns.




There was about 60 cars at this first event and a dozen or so big bikes.
Even a Triumph TR3 and an MGBGT!  :lol:  :thumbs:

After just over a year off the road, new exhaust fitted and a new MOT! Just went for a quick drive……woohoo! :thumbs:

Took the dash off and replaced the interior loom with one that hasn't been damaged by fire.  :'(

All back together and looking good.

Got my seats back from the trimmers - very pleased :D Tartan fabric seemed a long wait from Germany but now very happy!

Fitted a new boot strut as fed up of bumping my head. Got the dent man to remove some dents :)

I replaced a rear wheel bearing. Can now hear all the rattles again when going 50+ MPH!
