What did you do to your MK1 today?

Took the caster to paint shop.. not without first having to tie wrap the accelerator cable to the rocker.. even rolled down the leaking roof.. wish I knew where to start looking on the hydraulic rams.. or operating manual. Can't hear a relay now..so guess I have shorted some where..oh well 10 mile added today

Adjusted the coilovers today to try and get the "stance" I'm after… Now have even more rubbing than before, will try again another time! Parked up and tucked away again now!

Tested where to place my radiator and expansion tank.
When everything fits easy it's time to paint the radiator and finished the complete cooling system.

Sunday i robbed my new battery  from the leach(blue gti) and put on wifes 4yr old suzuki… then lost  the battery retaining bolt socket in the front slam panel.. so drove like a idiot trying to shake it free ..fail..
Yesterday called in to see the caster(green clipper), see if ready to pick up from having bumpers and doors touched up with fresh green paint.. also had alloys refurbished…need some r10 turbo caps…thats leaves new tan mohair hood to fit and gaskets to change, with new accelerator cable.. should then be 95% done..its the 5% i never get done

I've gone from this

To this

Needed to get rid of the silly camber and remove the stupid spacers causing the wheels to rub on nothing more than a slight murmer in the road surface !!!

Also managed to get the repeaters working by new wiring - nearly MOT time !!!!

today, bought a new battery  slightly bigger amps to replace the one the wife borrowed for her suzuki swift.. fitted. then power the leech up for first time since beginning of jan, still moves… still slightly noisy water pump….
jobs to do:- fit new pump… new roof…fit interior and wire rear speaker and door speakers.. remove cobra alarm.. fit and get working VDO gauges.. wing mounted ariel to add…then sell for a tidy loss…

Finally gotten around to fixing the brake lights on my LS, turned out the pressure switch bombed out so I replaced that. My rat is also coming along nicely, did some work on the wiring, fitted a new steering column, indicator stalks, ignition assy, brake booster setup, radiator, oil cooler and two original '83 front fenders. Fenders are a huge improvement on the pirate fenders that I replaced.
