What did you do to your MK1 today?

Drove it for the first time ever….

Took it home from the garage where it's been for the month since I bought it attempting to get it road worthy after ten years in a barn. Partial success - MOT but only running on three cylinders.

A quick removal of a shelf, relocation of the fridge and she's snugly into her new home in the garage. A week of cleaning and a new interior and then she'll be back to the mech to see if we can't get the fourth piston to join the party!

Very happy!!!!

Yeah he seems to be genuine. He's coming up from Newcastle. It's going to be tough seeing it go. But hey need the cash!

That's the mk1 sold. It was weird watching someone else drive it away. I'm sure I will have another one at some point.

Flew to Alicantie, went to garage, took cover off Sportine, connected battery, started 3rd time.  Dropped hood and went for a spin in 35 degrees! Will clean him today and take him for his ITV, have fitted new bits that I sent over. Have new clear spots to fit but will do that after the ITV. Fingers crossed

I have been busy today playing as my wife would call it, i prefer to think of it as spending quality time.

A few more jobs crossed off the to do list

Took the car to have the wheel alignment set
Replaced O ring  on fuel/air adjust screw to stop idle dropping
replaced all the small vacume hose connectors which looked in a sorry state
tried to fix the driver side door mirror adjusting thing, (ops) cut through 2 of the guide wires so door mirror now broken and i need a new one
Washed the car and then went for a drive to Belfast

MOT on Monday so fingers crossed

Set off for the ITV station stopped off in supermarket and the brake pedal went to the floor, squeaky bum time! Engine was very hot and two pipes had separated from the servo over the exhaust manifold. So much swearing and several burnt fingers later all connected up and brakes were back to normal.
Sportline passed ITV..
Drove to El Poblets for Tapas in the town square then back home the long route with the hood down, still 26 degrees at 9pm
