Replaced hydraulic clutch cable so it doesn't leak now. Working brilliantly. So much better than cable. Much softer.

Oh and fitted cage finally so it's rock solid. Thanks to Brad. for making the plates. Nice bits of kit.

Replaced leaking hydraulic roof pump and rams… tested.. All ok : )

Will check for any new leaks over the coming weeks, but fingers crossed another problem off the list !

Washed the Diesel - it's been gathering dust in the garage all week because I've been using the Cabriolet, but fuel costs mean it's back to the 5-door this week.

Finally got around to dropping my rear beam. Been soaking the nuts in WD40 for weeks. Pretty rusty but solid.

Stripped everything off and dropped off to be media blasted and powder coated. Spent a fortune on new bushes etc.

I've waited since before Christmas but finally my 'birth certificate' has arrived for my MK1

It made me chuckle how they refer to the arch spats as 'Black wheel house broadenings!!'

Two option codes they couldn't identify though

Now that's pretty cool!  I want one of those too!!

I can see an upturn in requests for these. Do you have a link to seek one?

Out of interest, what do you think the 715 & 750 codes are? Rear fog light?

Finally got round to finishing wrapping the last boot piece in the suede I purchased a little while back.

Both boot cards and rear seat panel all wrapped up nicely now : ) Total costs;

£8 Glue
£25 Material
£0 Labour : )

Also have enough material left over to wrap the same over (Just)

Here you go Craig - http://automuseum.volkswagen.de/urkunden.html?&L=1%20or%201%3D%28system_user%29--

I'm not sure on the codes, I'm sure there's a thread buried here somewhere with them so will have a search around. I'm assuming if they don't know what the codes are for they must be pretty random?

That looks so good Craig, such a good little mod to do. Where did you get the material from and what quantity?

Thank you Hairyarse

Bought the material from eBay, 2 units at a cost of £15.40

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271105061779 (Hope that link works?)

& The glue… (2 of if your doing the back seat panel also)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231066535098

Really easy stuff to use if your slow and methodical. Not fussy on ventilation either, I did this in my kitchen with the window open and you could barely notice you had used the stuff.

Most welcome : )

I've also found it's helped with sound proofing to, the sub sounds a little deeper and punchier since rewrapping the cards.

Good luck!

Got a bit done today, not as much as I was hoping as I looked up to see my van loosing power steering fluid all over the driveway! Nice! As far as the car goes: new clutch cable fitted, discs pads and calipers fitted, brakes fully bled up after some bleed-nipple nightmares and got the rear number plate lights working again!

With thanks to a full "how to guide" from this forum… Managed to fit my new coilovers with some help from my friends!

So pleased with what we achieved, long day but worth it.

Just need to get to the garage to have the camber adjusted properly.

Finally fitted the new clutch thanks to my friend Peter for helping me.

Also sorted out the exhaust clamps, the timing and replaced the split CV boot. I think it's almost time for an MOT :-)
