What did you do to your MK1 today?

Got a big box of stuff ready for the weekends work of rebuilding the cabby. Is it sad to be getting excited about that? I'm guessing no.

Not today but over the last 4 days

Cleaned up the 5 speed gearbox ready for fitting
Cleaned out all the under arches,  ready for a dose of undersealing
Refitted a fully rebuilt pierberg carb (runs like a bloody dream)
Had the original 13x5 steels banded to 13x6/7 and sent them off for paint
Picked up new tyres
Started work on some fancy pants door pockets and speaker pods
Deciding what combo of amp and speaker/sub to fit
Cleaned up and copper greased the coilovers ready for final height adjustments when the stels go back on

And thats it for now

Mashed haphazardly from my Tablet,  thats why i mispell sometimes,  im not an utter pleb,  or are i?

Nothing yet but!

Got up this morning and a nice hot shower, put on my MK1 Club T-shirt, MK1 Club hoodie and my MK Club jacket.
Could have gone for the hat as well but thought that was a bit of an overkill.

Just went over the road to collect my number plates back from the insurance company.

At 12:00 I'll go over to where I been storing mine over Winter for the last four months and one day.
Not bad when last year it was stored for five months and three weeks, then four days after I took it out (6th of April 2013) I got up to find 10 inches of snow on it. Not the best thing for a Cabrio.  :P

Topped the battery up at 6:00am this morning and it's been on charge ever since.
Can't wait till 12:00, I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas day.  :ocf_emoticons__clap:

Hi,

took the covers off the '80 Cabriolet, checked oil and water and started instantly. Let her sit in the sun for a bit to warm the roof, then off for a quick spin. Drives well, needs a good clean and a few rattles fixing, but the '79 Diesel (in the background) may be staying in the garage this week!

But spoke to a make of mine tonight and he will sort me out a really good one at cost price!  :)

So not all dome and gloom.

Thanks Guys, for compliments and for getting the pic where I intended too…    (I must try harder!)
The car isn't set up for a pose or a pic, it's a poorly executed three point turn at my brothers house!  :$
Weather is meant to be dry for the rest of the week, so may be my daily for the next few days.

I don't recognise the colour as VW, but it came from the big VW paint code book. Nevertheless, it was pretty close to the faded paprika red original paint.  Might even commit to some of the shows this year too. Good news for massbad! :-)

Spent the evening scrubbing and cleaning my new (old) parcel shelf down.

It's spent the evening sat under some heavy objects in an attempt to resolve the sagging (Fingers crossed)… Hopefully fitting later, finally have a shelf 11 months later
