What did you do to your MK1 today?

I pulled the bottom pulley of the afh to remove the plastics, timing belt etc. As there was a fairly.bad pressure oil leak from the oil.pump.  Expecting. To have to replace the gasket but in fact it was just a loose bolt!  Then, refitted all that stuff and fitted the electric fuel pump. Refitted the bonnet. Fitted the new clocks. With tachometer. And found that the hazard switch had exploded! Now have to shorten the fuel pipes. Wire the pump up. Fit a new hazard switch and go get an exhaust!

Fitted some nice new HEL fuel injector lines, problem that I've got now is that the rest of the bay looks tired and dirty!

Haha! Think I'll have to tidy up the rest now. Or never open the bonnet in public.

Took the intake manifold off and the header tank to create a bit of space to fit new fuel lines.

Started freshening up some other bits too… C:\fakepath\image.jpg C:\fakepath\image.jpg C:\fakepath\image.jpg

Also picked up the refurbished fuel tank yesterday so got plenty to be getting on with!

Thank you kindly : )

Used a pot of paint from Games workshop and a clear enamel to protect from the elements…. With the brush and equipment cost me less than £9 all in : )

& have tonnes left for the future.
