What did you do to your MK1 today?

Moved Patsy to a new location to get her finished. Then bought a Series 1 GTI project  

Just put petrol and drive our cabby it's getting more use than the alfa 155's

So much better than silly looking bucket seats

Finally stripped the underside of the car, then blasted the areas that needed it, eched and finished it with a coat of 3m sprayable sealer and silver paint.

Spent some more money on parts

Drove the Wife in mine to the Hospital to have her stitches out, 30 miles away.
Waited an hour and a half, so not too bad but then coming home I've only gone about a mile when.

A light knocking sound started around the drivers side wheel.
Which became a bit loader within in a hundred yards or so.    
Stopped at the fuel station the last one before the Motorway and had a very good look round but found nothing untoward.  
So decision time, do I (A) keep driving in the hope that it doesn't completely let go or (B) call out the Recovery Crew?

Well I went for (A) and luckily got away with it and managed to nurse him home not sounding any worse.
Biting fingernails and sweating buckets all the way.  
The Wife was dead quiet for a change!  

I'm on Holiday this week till next Tuesday and it has rained hard here the whole week until today, now it's warm and beautiful sunshine (perfect top down weather, not to hot).

Can't get a garage to look at it till Monday as all the workshops close at 12:00pm on a Friday!    

So I'm totally 'Horlicksed' and can't drive the car anymore during my Holiday!

smiled at my 42mpg achieved this week, then probably undid it all by going to pick up some parts from a local member for someone else, knocked ten minutes off the estimated google time, nice empty road at dusk.

I fitted my new wideband lambda sensor and ran it.

Got front arb back from powder coater,and had front disk backing plate s fitted.

Girlfriend drove the cabby to vw action this weekend and got a new pulse with a pic of her cabby on it

Took her to work this morning for the first time today after passing her mot on Friday, had a fab drive to work and back let's hope the sun is out tomorrow so I can put the top down

Watched the speedo turn 70,000miles this morning in the girlfriends cabby

Fitted correct starter motor, new Gaz suspension and BBS wheels.

She now runs

Drove to work, only to realise the heater and wipers have stopped working, and when I try to use either the stereo stops working!

Looks like I'll be spending the weekend removing the dash and dash loom to try and find out what's wrong (

Treated it to some Chemical Guys synthetic detailer to spruce up the Colli 915, went for a spin and watched the clock on Mrs C's beloved Clipper hit 64k.

 I`ve been playing with my bump steer gauge, sorted out 7mm of negative bump steer, cant wait to give the old girl a rip………
