It livesssss! Blew a fuel injector o ring so it won't run 100% should be fixed tomorrow! New cam, new header, aluminum cam and intermediate sprockets. NOS lower timing belt cover, non ac setup, power steering totally deleted. Only things left are the fixing the idle and fuel injector issue!

Went on road trip to Basildon to pick uphone arch trim for yuppy flu. Got couple of other items thrown in..side and sill trim. Couple indicators oh and a roof frame.. manual one.. then yesterday took parts to body shop for fitting to yuppy flu. So new windscreen seal. New a pillar trim.new window scrapers. New indicators side and fronts. And the replacement arch spat to be repaired and fitted. Hopefully no more need for extra parts. So far quote for paint work Ł1700. New parts extra 300Ł that's a big expense on yuppy flu..what with purchase price in feb..and new roof in may with window frame. New alarm.new radio and repair speakers.

20161111_161904_optimized.jpg Weekly update…well three days in Middlesbrough on training course.was no fun. Called to see yuppy flu on my way past. He's back on the pillar lift and starting with  headlights .windscreen back in (apparently vwheritage seal tight as xxxx and needed window fitter to install it), put tail/boot back on ,search around workshop hunting new clips and stickers.dropped off some werks 34 cabby door caps. And set of outer widow seals and front indicators classicvw (found in box of hidden toys),  So hopefully back home soon.edit next is to fit 3 spoke wheel maybe even colour code like shugy's 20161126_174908.jpg 20161111_161846_optimized.jpg

When i bought my car the o/s wing mirror had a crack in it, with a new MOT, apparently this isn't a fail.. ok... so i went on to buy a, what i thought was a Mk1 golf mirror glass... unbeknown to me at the time that a standard advertised Golf glass wouldn't fit... so bought one & replaced it with a glass which didn't fit or sit right. So continued to drive with this no problem. always bugged me but hey more important things to do... so I got around getting a replacement glass... believe me these are rather pricey 2nd hand as they're all in one - covers & adjusting cables.. so i bought one a few weeks back.. the glass is literally only about 2mm thick... so had fun with a butter knife, hot soapy water, hairdryer & a lot of patience, managed to remove the glass - sweet i thought... so left in my mini paperwork/bits pile by the side of the kitchen sink, my wife,  talking while washing/wiping up decided to put a saucepan on top of the mirror (as it was face down with the adhesive side showing)... so with it still being a little sticky, it stuck to the bottom of the saucepan, picked it up, continued to wipe it then the mirror fell off onto the tiles in the kitchen - result? smash..

So... onwards & upwards managed to get another mirror & same process to take off the glass... but got it off a bit quicker... also took off the adhesive off the back of the glass & renewed with 3M doubled sided tape... put it on a warm hob for seconds to bond   now ready to replace my 'temp' mirror... (& keep it outta the wife's way)

I literally throw those mirrors out over here lol. I do know our glass is backwards from what you need though.

Updates one my daily! I installed my spare coilovers and bought back some Technocast wheels I had restored with a friend!

Here's the US GTI Splitter test fitted, I need to sand and prime it then a friend is going to paint it for me!
