VROOM VROOM - New exhaust time, HELP please...!!!???

Rightio… The centre section has a wee hole, so a GREAT excuse to replace the entire exhaust system, not including manifold, on my 1988 MK1 GTI Cabriolet.

Looking at a performance exhaust system, WOW a whole minefield of products on the market.

Question being please…

I would like a subtle improvement in burble from twin pipes with some element of performance gains, which exhaust systems are best for my vehicle please?

Have a custom one made somewhere locally would be my advice.

I have had quotes of about £350 for two silencer system from downpipe back in stainless in 2 inch. I think standard pipes are 1.5 or 1 3/4. No matter what you have consider how much noise it makes on a long journey or early morning when leaving home if used that way and how much you want to live with. For me a like a raspy sound at higher revs with a low burble at lower revs. Just need to buy it now
