I'd not be to bothered about the oil temp because mine which is of course a none Sportline but the same lump and box minus a handful of ps can get that hot!
But as in the other post about the same car a few weeks ago, there's one or two more issues about this car that just doesn't sit right.

Not sure on the fuel sticker decal could just be aftermarket job.
I have mine up for sale too - but hard to part with it. It drives great and still looks sharp.
The prices have risen in the last few months and years and the best ones will always command a bit more.

Not all sportline's came with a leather steering or gearknob, some just had the late clipper wheel, that gearknob and the leather gaitor. Some also came with the cabriolet badge and not the golf GTI badge to the rear. There have been a few cars that have passed though recently which have shown this to be the case.

I stand corrected haha!
It's a bit odd that it has the e/w option yet hasn't stretched to the leather wheel though. The gear knob and gaitor does not look as good in that form IMO exposing the main shaft. I recall my lhd Sportline had 'cabriolet' on the back but then bizarrely it had clipper 1.8 mechanics! I'm pretty sure the 'Sportline' decals are a smidge too high and the lack fuel cap sticker combined makes me think paint has been applied in that area. Not a patch on yours shughy - I'd gladly pay £1k less and have a car I know has been sorted - can't believe you're selling the car that started it all…..! Will you get another?
