Not sure about that Richard but good guess though.  

You would have to pay tax on the price you pay for it about 8 or 10% on a car like that but the current owner has already paid it!

I googled what I thought was the persons name on the picture of the document and it came up with someone who lives in Beruit!  - we are getting desperate now Mike with this one!

Just want to remind you all that car specs in this part of the world were little bit different to the UK specs back then although I think due to costs there are much more in sync now.

Back then VW UK would stipulate a bit of the cosmetics on the cars to suit what the market at home wanted or so they thought. Interior trim, body and bumper trim for example plus what extras they would make available for the customer.

VW would apiculture some of the time but then extending the delivery time to the dealers etc…

This car might have had new bumpers fitted by the current owner (I'm fairly sure) but I've seen the same model very tatty and clearly untouched without the crome inserts for example.  

Oh and that has nothing to do with the mini competion.

I am stuck with the mini quiz and tempted to make an undiplomatic comment - so I will guess on price instead £3462.
