ha ha , you have a good excuse way more rust than mine had.I have ended up changing most parts twice as pattern parts are just rubbish and it has taken this long to find all the nos genuine bits required.
Should be next year but have been saying that for the last two years lol .

Had the GTI 14 years next April (I think). Longer than I've known Mrs Early….

The Cabrio about 6 or 7 years.

I ran a '80 Diesel Jetta and then a '83 Driver as dailys back in the mid/late 80s/early 90s.

God I'm getting old.

I've had mine over 6yrs now and altho it had lots of work done before I put it on the road it has been a trooper and I can honesty say even when something has broke it has never been towed or trailered back home .It's always got there under it's own steam THEN DIED lol
From doing germany over a year ago I've only spent £29 on it for a new batterie not bad me thinks!!!!!!!

I've had my cabby since July 2005 bought it from my bro when he moved to Costa Rica it was in better condition then but I crashed my daily and it ended up doing the 40 mile a day commute which killed it  :P

And I have had my Diesel Tin Top since April this year only the second owner of that little gem ;) still needs a bit of work tho

had mine since 2001 so nearly 13years. I saw it at a cruise back in the day, I spoke got the owner to which I realised I knew him and got first refusal. And he stuck to his word bought it for £440 :) he had to sell it due to smashing up a brand new mk4 golf on road test opps! it will never leave now, unless I find my dream car at the right price or I get the chance to buy my 1964 mustang back

As for me, since Birth.
Which was a decade before the first one hit the road!
Used to sell them new 30 years ago but I've had mine just short of two years but it feels like for ever!  :)

As far as I'm concerned, there's no better feeling than sitting behind the wheel of a VW GOLF MK1.
