That one was on eBay at the end of January as a 99p starting price auction and, according to the description, the original lady owner was selling it. It got about 4 bids and then was taken off! It has since appeared on gumtree a couple of times, each time for more money! My guess is that somebody waved some pound notes at her to end the auction early to sell on and make a few fast bucks! I remember it well, it was on eBay the week before  I bought my GTI and was on gumtree the day before I bought mine and is one of the reasons I paid more for mine than I really wanted to!

If its original, I suspect its an import or a special order - not that there's anything wrong with that. The seats being red (in a black car) and the non-standard spoiler are the giveaways. The spoiler is probably a dealer-fit option ordered at the time.

Spoiler looks a bit like a Richard Grant one so probably fitted aftermarket, probably hasn't done too much damage few small screw holes.  Seats look quite faded though, not sure if parcel shelf looks original or not and had a respray, but a generally tidy car.
