How to contact VW to obtain a 'build sheet' for my mk1

Post

I'm trying to obtain a build sheet for my mk1 so I know what my car actually came with out the factory, however the local VW garage ain't exactly being helpful….

I've read threads on here in the past when people have managed to get the build information directly from VW, however I was wondering how they did this?…letter…email….phone?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Waj

sorry to butt in…

the additions, the 3 figure numbers e.g. 452 497 etc they won't be able to advise as it was an addition not a factory setting - Optional extras.

VW Germany will give you the chassis number, model, engine type/size, bhp, manufacture date, delivery to UK date, Body/Upholstery colour, Speed - auto/manual.

I bought a Certificate of origin many years ago, when it was only like 40 bucks USD, most of the M-codes are listed on it, but not all that were on my build sticker.

I would show you the difference but I would have to locate the sheet, as we have moved a wee bit and I haven't seen it in the unpacking…..

What is funny is that it also listed a couple of them as unknown.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Worldwide for Cabby's defiantly not sure on tintops.
Although be careful all round because interior color schemes do differ as does the instrumentation! 😉 👍🏼

i've looked at the list & compared it to the numbers on the sticker in the boot, they don't appear true to the car… debatable perhaps… :|
