i agree the auction part was a good show of compassion, but the programme itself didn't show much of the car. id even go as far as saying Car SOS featured the work more on there car.
nice to see another saved though.

DaveM Hope your son is not too embarrassed with the nappy changing on the parcel shelf.  :$

Must take a pic of my youngest sitting on my shelf and keep it for his wedding day lol. How many mk1's will exist in another 25/30 years time?

Lovely looking mk1's featured in the program.

Cheers Hugh.

Nice Golf Dave!

Last time I watched For The Love of Cars I'm sure they bought the cars themselves rather than doing it up for someone?
Was nice that he got his dream car bought for him at the end.

It was Baker Street where I picked the car up from.

I can't remember the garage name as all my dealings were through VAG Personal Export and that is all that appears on the Service book/invoice etc.

Because it was export there was not even the name on the number plates. Ian picked me up on that during the judging at the annual OC meet.

just looked in the service book and Baker Street is not listed, so probably was for Export sales only. It was the only garage you could use to buy a car for export.
Alan Day is listed as Malvern Road.

He was not happy with mum!!

He was told we had used the photos, after the filming but he has yet to see the programme.

I think I will go and hide.

That's interesting.    You can just see the remains of a baker St sticker in my rear window , and the number plates are plain. ..does yours have the smoke tinted windows ?

Plain glass only and no sunroof thankfully.
Had a radio fitted and the twin lamp grill as dealer fit options. They forgot to fit the grill so took it home in the boot and fitted it later. Still have the original single lamp grill.

My number plates had no dealer name but the red bands were to indicate it was tax free and had to be out of the country within 6 months.
