For Sale - 1983 Driver - Now with Pics

Great Opportunity - Well I would say that!

FOR SALE - VW GOLF MK1 DRIVER
Engine Size: 1272cc
Year: 1983
Colour: Baikal Blue
Body Type: 3 Door Hatchback (Non Sunroof so no rust or leaks)

I brought this car before Christmas (2007) after being made redundant as a project / run around . Although in amazing condition bodily it had been off the road (Garaged) for a number of years with blown a head gasket (obviously resolved now….see list of new parts below). I have now got another job and the wife won't put up with five cars for the two of us!

The Bad Points (I'll start here because it'll  be short)
 
?The bodywork is excellent for its year.  Except for the lower front valance which has two small dents either side of number plate.  It looks like it has had under bumper spot lamps and a previous owner has touched something causing the damage (easily / cheaply solved)
 
?Interior is in very good condition, drivers seat is worn (but not worn through).  I have a complete rear seat cloth if you want to make it A1. The interior has also been throughly cleaned.

- Door caps have cracked

The Good Points

- Approx 78,000 miles showing (condition would suggest this is genuine…but I can't guarantee it)

- No rust

- all trim in place (plus some spare bits)

- All Driver bits in place

- Car passed its MOT in January with no advisory notes!

- 3 months Tax (lower rate)

- Running on mk2 P-slots Alloys with all centre caps and good tyres, original steel wheels are part restored (may get these finished)
 
- List of new parts: Head Gasket, Rocker Cover Gasket, Thermostat, Water Pump, New Radiator, Cambelt, Alternator Drive Belt, Plugs, Points, Condensor, Brake Discs, Brake Pads, Oil / Air / Fuel filters, Choke Cable,  Carb rebuild incl gaskets, Bosch wipers.

- Rear Brake shoes are still as new so these weren't replaced (but I have a replacement set anyway for when they do)

This is a great little motor and is in stunning condition for a twenty five year old car (this is my opinion before anybody makes any comments).  It's ideal for someone who wants a way into Golf ownership or just as a run around.
