[SOLD] G-Reg Black Cabriolet

Edit: Now Sold.

Ok, My GTI is now MOTed so I can get on with selling my Cab with a bit more ernest…

Insurance company valued it at over ?1800 last year, I started advertising for ?1700 ono.  I'll readily admit ithat it's not the best time to sell a cabbie, and it would benefit from a few bits sorting out, so i'm going to be more realistic…

Now reduced again down to ?900, make me an offer

Any questions, Email or give me a shout on 077123 24514.  I'm based in Reading, Berkshire most of the time.

Mk1 Golf 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

- G-Reg ('89)
- Std Met Black.
- Approx 115K Miles.
- MOT (Until late February 2009).
- 6 months Road Tax (until end of June 2009).

Spec:
- Corrado 15" Estoril wheels.  Can swop them for Mk2 14" P-slots if prefered.
- Lowered on full spring/damper suspension kit.
- White front indicators, tinted side repeaters, crystal half smoked rear lights, aero wipers.
- Five bar de-badged front grill, painted with red edge trim.
- Decent condition standard interior.  Late model so driver seat is height adjustable type shared with Roccos.
- Std roof tonneau cover still present.

Mains Servicing (Since I bought it Easter 2007):
- Head Gasket replaced a year ago with new Exhaust Studs and Manifold Gaskets.  Head checked and skimmed by Power Units in Hertfordshire. April 2007.
- New side cables on roof. Summer 2007.
- New brake fluid, front pads and rear shoes. Summer 2007.
- New tie rod ends, steering rack Bushes and steering rack gaiters.  Rack cleaned and re-greased. Summer 2007.
- New rear wheel bearings. Feb 2008, New Front wheel bearings. May 2008.

To do:
- It's burning oil mainly when I pull away from standstill, Likely it has tired Stem Seals.

- I have never had the carb setup properly, I drive it daily, but i've always suspected it would be better with a proper set up.

- Most of the gear change bushes have been replaced; however the mechanism does need adjustment as 1st/2nd has become notchy.

- Car has original Vinyl Roof; it has small tears in the roof in the usual place at the first folding point.  It has never bothered me but if you want a new Vinyl or Mohair roof skin, it will be of the order of a few hundred.

- Minor (walking pace!) knock to the front in December managed to damage front panel, grill and bumper.  Front Grill is cracked around passenger side headlamp, it looks ok as I have glued it back together but you may want to replace.  Front Panel, Re-Painted in StoneChip paint.   Front Bumper,  Light damage on passenger side around Indicator.  It is not major as you can see from the pictures, probably repairable however second hand front bumper likely a better idea.
This went through insurance so has 'damaged and repaired' on the V5, I had to reMOT it at the time and it underwent the VIC (Vehicle Identity Check) earlier in the year to prove identity hasn't been tampered with.

Images, these were taken late August 2008, I hadn't washed it! But shows the condition of the front corner as it is at the moment, ignore the P-Slot!  All four Corrado wheels are now back on it.

The damaged corner, as described above:

And some pictures before the scrape, and just washed:
