I have a MK1 golf gti Karmann cabriolet 2.0 8v TSR engine with twin 40 webbers in silver/grey metalic FOR SALE 1990 moddel which has been dry stored for the last 6 years, with the following tastefull improvements-

I am looking for offers around ?2500  

2ltr TSR 8v engine (?4k+)
Twin 40 Webber carbarettors (?1000 with manifold and linkages)
Sebring Stainless 4:2:1 4 branch manifold straight through to-(225+vat)
Sebring back box twin inwardly rolled double round pipe (105mm)

17" chrome BBs + low profiles top of the range tyres (2000)
new breaks
new lowering suspension (gmax)
New VW origanal hood & wires(?600 fitted) Is hydralic but needs refilling
Chrome/crystall lenses all round -headlights-bumper and side repeater-M3 Red/crystall rear clusters (?250)

Single headlamp badgeless grill (100)
2 sets of SAMCO silicoln blue hose's Ancilary and coolant (?200)
Aliminum petrol cap (?50) vairous chrome engine bay bits and bobs
Wolfsburg detailing (subtle)
Black body strips with Chrome inserts (origanal aftermarket parts)
Green tint import german factory speck Glass
Plus many more bits and mods i have forgot to mention which are all very subtle-beautful standard looking car on 17" chrome BBS alloys

This car has a few parking marks on done my my friends mum prior to purchase 7 1/2years ago for ?3k and has cost me in excess of 10k to build it has had the Webbers removed for storage and has been DRY STORED for the past 5/6 years and is in very good condition i am after sesible offers although this would be a barging for the right person

That bit confussed me too. I don't think that is the for sale price, I think that is the amount he has spent on it.
But I have been known to get things wrong before………….

Put a definative asking price up and some pics, or you'll not get much genuine interest.

Sorry guys I have spent over ?10'000 on wheels, Restoring and doing the engine transplant- and as its been in storage for so long its time to Sell .

I dont have an asking price in mind, so am open to offers?

And as for PICS i will get some on soon as i can- As i said its well worth a visit if your after a cab of this spec, you can always look and then make an offer at a later date im not expecting any1 to bring cash without seeing phottos

I've argued before that all ads should have a price and location, with getting nowhere. Tian - if its a new rule - please can you link to when it was announced, and I'll stand corrected!

Something interesting was said about a similar issue on CGTI - sellers don't help themselves by being vague with info, pics etc.

agreed, unless your going to take any offer?? You must have an idea, say offers in region of 3k etc

Otherwise we'll be hear all year trying to guess, if you want to shift it, then you must have a price in your mind what you'll be happy with so please enlighten us

also, Paul, its not a rule as yet, its just a suggestion, but is on the agenda for discussion at the next commitee meeting.. IMO price and location should be the only rules!!

i read it as ?10 ? with a k on the end as a missprint? :wink:

It was suggested back in 2007 and implemented as part of the 2008-on changes, however the mods at the time didn't want to implement it, moaned a lot, so it had to be ditched. Just goes to show that the UNELECTED mods can influence the site quite a lot, if they want to. But that's history.

All credit to Tian, I think it was his suggestion (back in 07) which I followed up.
