new seats

Just picked up a series 2 mk1 gti interior in good condition apart from the fact that the seats have faded.  The guy i bought them off mentioned that the fabric could be reversed.  Has anyone ever heard of this being done?

Early series 1 seats yes, series 2 seats nope, not that tI'm aware of.

We can get the black cloth though if that would help  :wink:

My brother at www.interior-wizzard.co.uk will be able to help, he is doing the interior and headlining on my campaign.

What is he doing to your interior?  Does he know if the cloth can be reversed? Does anyone know for sure?

i had a set of series 1 seat covers, they looked reversable, but there was a line runing through the underside that woudld show, i also tried dying them, but no luck

Yep, series 1 tartan trim reversable, 'Mr GTI' on here has done it on his Gti. The black trim is reversable too, but series 2 striped Gti covers aren't reversable

I thought it sounded too good to be true  :cry: .  Maybe they will freshen up with a good valet.  Has anyone had any success obtaining a match for the striped cloth?
