what ls the best timing belt kit

Hello guys, as above which timing belt kit would you guys recommend, I seen a few which are dayco, Ina, SKF, all.advice appreciated

I used Gates, however nowadays these belts are replaced on a calendar basis due to the rubber perishing.

Suggest that you don't buy a new old stock belt that has been on the shelf a long time.

The ina kits are good oe too

I see I looks on eurocarparts  and they do DAYCO and ina, where do you guys get the gates from? Do I have to specify to the counter guy that I want a new belt not a old stock

I always use the Conti belts and of course fit a new tensioner, I use the Ina tensioner.
I did buy a cambelt from VW a few years ago and that did had a "born on the" date .
Never had a problem with Conti belts for the years I've been using them on both my cars and I change them every 60,000 miles (Haynes says 40,000 miles which I think is to often)

skf will be good gear, they make excelent quality bearings. usually i end up with bosch timing belts which are also fine
