Ive fitted a new oil pump recently to my Golf GTi mk1 1.8 1983, The pump was bought from GSF and the only reason I changed it was because I know they're prone to seizing up. Anyway the pump was changed and I poured oil into the gears and turned the shaft to prime it, however the engine had been sat for around a week with the new pump on with no oil in the engine as I was waiting for a new baffle plate.
Once I received the baffle plate I put the sump back on and filled the engine with oil, I fired it up and the oil light was flashing. Is this because the oil pressure hasnt picked up? I let the engine run for around 20 seconds hoping it would pick up but it never did so I turned it off, checked the oil level which was fine then tried it again for another 20 seconds. Im just hoping it hasnt caused any damage, any ideas on what to do???cf_emoticons__BangHead:
