Drinking oil

The engine drinking a litre of oil ever 500 miles and yet it passed the MOT yesterday! The MOT inspector said the emissions are lower on my car than a lot of new cars. What do you think?  :dontknow:

I've had oil 'drinking' on mine before. If not valve stem oil seals then I'd guess from oil filter housing, sump or maybe just rocker cover gasket. Mines leaking from that at the moment and its surprising how much oil it gets through.

Its a case of just having a good grovel under the bonnet/car :wink:

mine's leaking oil from the front of the head gasket (slightly)

strange though because I haven't put oil in it for about 2 months and it's still just below Max.  :dontknow:

Still on the forum, but have just been reading the posts recently, been to busy and all that.

I still can't understand where all the oil is going? The engine passed the emissions(very low). The sump, rocker, and head gasket have all been replaced and there are no leaks. No blue smoke, it just doesnt make sense
