Engine conversion

Hi, I am pretty new to the whole engine conversion thing so I have some questions regarding it….

I currently own a 75 model mk1 with a 1,6l carburator engine and an automatic transmission. I have obtained a 1,6l injection engine but with a manual gearbox and is wondering if there is anything in particular I have to keep in mind if I want to change?

Are you planning on keeping the auto ?

and will you also be converting it to fuel injection, or keeping the carb?

I am planning to change to a 4 speed manual and change to fuel injection. The overall plan is to make it as close to an original GTI as possible 

alrighty, lots of work ahead for you then! you'll have to swap in pedal box, cables, linkages, stick etc from 4 speed manual 1.5-1.8 mk1/cab/rocco. then you'll need to change the engien and rear loom for mk1 gti, with same fuseboxas yours

I have all of the right parts for the transmission, it is mostly the fuel injection I am worried about. I need a lot of pieces for it and don't have that much expirience with that system
