Fuel lines for abf, and clocks.
running an 020 box, i heard there's some clocks for a sirrocco that
will work in the mk1 dash? If not would it be modify the dash and
use mk2 gti ones? Also what diameter fuel line will i need and are
there any parts that need a flexi pipe? And last one what throttle
cable will i need to use?
Cheers.

i heard that mk2 gti clocks would need the brackets modding to
fit them into the mk1 dash. Im using an abf out of a seat ibiza with
siemans management, and it was a 1.1 shell.

the way I do it is to cut off mthe ABF coil plug and splice the trigger wire into a MK1/2 TCI-H -> coil loom. that way you can use a MK1/2 coil which is more reliable than the MK3 unit, and the rev counter will work with it. To get rev counter workin with MK3 coil you have to open it up and solder a wire inside it.
Complete fuel lines, reservoir from any MK3 Polo but with GT/G40 main pump (fuel setup is identical on SPI/GT/G40 MK3 Polo, just the GT/G40 pump is higher output)
Feed it with a MK1 cab/rocco lift pump which will drop right into the carby tank and you're away

Ah right, so i can use the original clocks and just not have
the rev counter, cool. What throttle cable should i be using
then? And ive got a mk1 golf gti tank and pump??
You could use any Mk1 Golf clocks with a rev counter, and swap the wiring part-loom which plugs into them too, I think they vary according to the clocks used (speedo/fuel/coolant temp, speedo/fuel/coolant temp/clock, speedo/fuel/coolant temp/digital clock/rev counter).

throttle cable use a MK2 GTI one, and get a new MK2 golf rubber accellerator pedal bush at the same time, the MK1 item is made of foam and will likely fall to bits. VAG do the bush for uber cheap! GSF will do you a throttle cable.
as for tank and pump, MK1 GTI items will work, so use em if ya got em!
afaik all mk1 clocks have same basic pin layout, just the MFA bits of them that can differ as some clocks have the 1/2 switch on the front of the clocks, later ones have it on the mfa stalk.

you can use MK1 clocks and have the rev counter work, the only difference is 16v rev counter has a higher red line. it will still read correctly however

MFA clocks have an additional 6 pin plug, for starters. I don't know because I've only ever had GTIs and a GL with the same clocks (rev counter but no MFA) and as I understand it, while the plugs and the pinouts are the same, the wiring is different (in other words, the rev counter signal wire won't be there).

And also i got sent this gear selector rod and stick from
what i was told was a mk1 gti as i'll need that setup for
the mk2 golf kr box? But the base plate that it bolts into
the transmission tunnel inside the car is totally different
from the one i took out. Anyone shed any light on this?
Here's a couple of pics to help.
The two different types, top ones the original and bottom
new one i got sent.
The hole it came out of!

And if it is k-jet? lol cheers Paul.
I asked before and you said you were using Siemens management. If you were going to use K-Jet mechanical FI then I'd replace the 1/4" fuel lines with 8mm ones, to minimise pressure loss, since mechanical FI needs a higher fuel pressure than EFI.

and it has a siemans ecu, i don't no what fueling system
to use, i asumed it'd just be the same one that came on
the abf engine?

Well, you need to decide, because it affects other stuff!

near enough about it. Ive got the mk1 gti tank, pump and
accumulator and the abf engine, ecu and wiring loom from
the seat it came from with the key and immobiliser fob.
Which fueling type would be easiest to run from what i have then?

What would I do? Use Megasquirt. What would I recommend to a beginner? Unsure.
