16v engine problem
Because the car hasnt moved for about 10 months and it has an entirely new brake system. I drove it out of the garage realy slowly.
But then i decided to give it a little more throttle and it suddenly died and backfired at the same time.
has anyone else had this problem?

Might be a loose wire on the LT side, or something like that.

I think there are no loose connections.
Could it be the fuel mixture?
If so which way do i need to turn the screw to lean it. ( its K-jet)

The WUR and there is this other connection just under the dizzy which has nothing connected
I find it strange because it revs well when its not in gear

at idle it was fine.
Try running a temp ground from the head to your battery Ground.
Good luck.

Double check your engine timing as well. I've had teeth rip out of a timing belt already. hope this isn't the case.

Like Paul C asked… do you have spark at all?

CrazyNick said
yes i have spark but i think it should be stronger
Is it significantly stonger off the king lead, than one of the spark plug leads? If so then have a close look at the dizzy cap and rotor arm.

So i then took dizzy cap off and the rotor seems wobbly, which i know it shouldnt. So i will replace it and let you know how it goes.

I took it easy though cos the breaks feel realy spongey and you have to pump the pedal a bit before you stop.
So thanks once again Paul
