front brake back plates
Anyone know where i can get the plates that sit behind the front brakes and act as a gaurd. Mine are slowly rotting away and i'm looking to replace them but can't seem to find them anywhere.
Thanks
Dan

you dont need them, but it helps in winter keep the water etc off the back of the discs, but in summer in can give a lack of cooling to the disc,

erm arent they just 3 bolts that hold them on? the bolts normally go all manky and rust in…

You can't remove them unless you remove the hub from the knuckle, the gap is too narrow. You need the backplates to help prevent water, snow, stones, debris, etc entering the caliper. Temperature is not a problem for standard brakes.
